Evolution Gaming holds the right to change the maximum win, and the maximum bet limit may change from time to time. This is clearly stated in the game’s rules; however, we haven’t observed any such changes in the months we’ve been playing this game.

There is no direct explanation within the game or on any of the casinos that host this game as to which algorithm is behind this crash game.
Because of this, we decided to contact Evolution Gaming, and they assured us that the lottery drum that picks the balls in this game is 100% fair and that there is no way to manipulate the game’s results.

As we continue, we’ll show you how to play the game, but in all fairness, this is one of the few games that comes with a thorough info/help section. The image below shows you where you can find it.

As usual, we start things off by playing the desktop browser version of the game. We play-tested the Cash or Crash game on several browsers, different desktop devices, and various internet connection strengths.
This game features a live, high-definition live stream. Because of this, we found that in order to experience smooth gameplay, a strong internet connection is reliable. However, the game performed fantastically on all our desktop devices, even on those that don’t have the greatest hardware.
Having a strong internet connection is essential when playing live game shows such as Cash or Crash!
The game’s interface on a desktop device is fantastic. The game window is big enough to fit all the information and functions of the game, and both the video and sound quality of the live stream are superb.
To make things even better, this game allows you to switch the view of the game by clicking on the camera icon in the top right menu. Once you click it, you switch to a new interface with a smaller video frame but better access to the player’s chatroom and the game’s past results.

First of all, we are excited to see such a complex game being available on mobile devices, bravo Evolution Gaming! We’ve tried the game on several mobile devices, ranging from old and small (iPhone 6) to new and big (iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S11).
The mobile version of the game features a slightly less HD live video stream, but the interface itself is nearly the same, just more compact.
And while we do think that Evolution Gaming did the best they could to adapt this game to mobile devices, all of our team members agreed that this is not a game we really enjoyed playing on mobile.
Here’s what bothered us:

❌ You need a really strong internet connection to ensure the game runs smoothly
❌ The interactive feeling we got with the dealer on a desktop device is not as present on mobile

How to Play The Cash or Crash Game
Do you like climbing ladders? Well, you’ll love climbing the 20-step ladder in this game because there are some terrific multipliers up for grabs on the upper steps!
Climbing a ladder has never been more fun
Cash or Crash is based on 20 steps, with each step featuring a different cashout multiplier. The higher you get, the bigger the reward!
To climb the steps, you’ll need to have lots of luck and then some more luck after that! Here’s how this game works.
1. Place a Bet Before The Game Starts
To enter the game, you’ll need to place a bet, just like with all crash games. There is no betting automation in this game, so the only thing you need to decide on is the bet amount.
To place a bet, you pick the tokens below the multiplier ladders and click the round token button once you’ve determined the bet amount. But don’t take too much time, or you’ll miss the next round!
As you can see in the image above, you can double your bet amount with the “x2” button, undo your placed bet with the undo button or repeat the bet from the previous round with the repeat button (shows up once you’ve placed at least on bet in a session).
2. Start Climbing The Multiplier Ladder
If you’ve been reading carefully, you might have already caught us mentioning three types of balls in this game.
The lottery drum at the center of the game contains the following:
- 19 green balls
- 8 red balls
- 1 golden ball
Green Balls
Each time a green ball gets drawn, you move a step up the ladder. Ideally, 20 green balls in a row get drawn, and you win the juicy 18,000X multiplier. But this doesn’t happen too often, unfortunately.
However, there is a way you can manage your risk levels. If you’re happy with what you’ve won so far, the game gives you three options after each time a green ball gets drawn.
You can:
- Grab 100% of your winnings
- Grab 50% of your winnings and play on with the other half
- Continue playing and risk it all or win big, you never know!
Red Balls
Each time a red ball gets drawn, you lose it all. That’s right, as soon as you see that red ball is drawn, you’re toast.
Good odds
There are only 8 red balls compared to 19 green balls, so hopefully, you’ll be lucky and catch more greens than reds!
But keep in mind that all the balls that were previously drawn get separated from the lottery drum, so each time a green or a gold ball gets drawn, there is a bigger chance a red ball gets picked.
If only there was a way to protect yourself from those pesky reds! But wait…
The Golden Ball
There’s only one golden ball, and only she holds the power to protect you from the demolishment of a red ball.
Shield activated
Each time the golden ball gets drawn you move up one step and you also get a shield that protects you against the next red ball!
As soon as that red ball gets drawn, the shield loses its power, and the game continues normally. But there’s more, if the golden ball does get drawn, your potential winnings increase as well!
A golden ball increases the multipliers on all the steps of the ladder, but most importantly, the maximum multiplier increases from 18,000X to 50,000X! Incredible!

There are 3 tabs in the settings windows: general, video, and sound. You can adjust your in-game nickname in the general tab, your sound settings in the sound tab, and your video settings in the video tab.
Go medium, enjoy the responsivness
If you have a weaker internet connection, play the game with “medium” video quality.
There’s a chance your connection strength may fluctuate when you play the game, which, according to our experience, disturbs the game even more as you switch between video quality settings automatically.
