Gameplay Experience & Features
My first experience with Paper Lanterns was a bit standoffish. The game looks, well, different from your regular crash games.
There are no rockets, no explosive crashes, and the game’s interface feels oddly calming.
Once you start playing, this all changes.
Desktop Experience
Before I get into all the details, I must say that a desktop device was my go-to for this game. Since you can place five bets at once, I felt that the bigger screen just allowed me to handle the game better.
Despite the calming first experience, Paper Lanterns go wild once you place those simultaneous bets.
At the bottom of the game interface, there are five differently colored ‘BET’ buttons, each with its own betting interface. These allow you to set the bet amount and engage the auto-cash-out and autoplay features.
If you’re an adrenaline junkie, place all five bets at the same time and cash them out manually. Good luck!
Once you click on the circular bet buttons, the corresponding paper lantern takes off, and a little rising multiplier number follows her on her journey to the top of the game.
The multipliers also rise incredibly fast, so keep your eyes peeled. I definitely recommend using the auto-cash out function, or ‘Collect’ option, as Mascot Gaming called it here.
Despite not being the most feature-filled game (compared to Aero by Turbo Games), I like that the game randomly gifts you free bets occasionally, which you don’t see often.
Staying on the topic of nice features, if you’re feeling risky, you can also use the ‘Bet All’ and ‘Collect All’ features that are neatly tucked away in the top right corner of the game.

Aside from the ‘My Bets’ drop-down menu at the top, which stores the data of all your bets, this game has no groundbreaking features.
Overall, my desktop gaming experience with this game was a straight 10/10. There were no in-game bugs, betting delays, or other annoyances. Let’s switch to mobile.
Mobile Experience
Mascot Gaming has developed this game with mobile players in mind. The game’s interface not only looks good on mobile, but it also performs spectacularly.
Playing on mobile did leave me longing for some company, which this single-player crash game won’t provide. There is no live leaderboard or player chatroom like in Spribe’s Aviator. Here, it’s you against the lanterns, and that’s it.
Talking about lanterns, the game’s interface on mobile still allows you to place 5 bets at once, and all the features I just described on the desktop are still present on mobile.
The only thing that bothered me is that you have to expand the betting interface on mobile to access the bet amount modification buttons. While a minor thing, I do think this could be executed better.

Gameplay Options
As I’ve already mentioned, there are three ways of playing this game:

Manual Mode
The manual mode in Paper Lanterns could not be any simpler. To enter your first round of the game, use the ‘+’ and ‘-’ icons next to the bet amount to select the bet amount and click bet once you’re ready to enter the game.
Once the paper lantern flies off, be sure to monitor the multiplier and click the cash-out button to grab that profit. Simple!
Despite being simple, the fact that you can execute this process on five betting interfaces at once really elevates your options for strategies and fun.
Autoplay Mode
If betting automation is what you’re after, this game is not it. You are better off checking our BC.Game’s original crash game and their betting scripts.
Paper Lanterns keep things simple by offering two things:
- Autoplay
With this option, the game places automatic bets at your desired bet amount immediately after the lantern pops. It will continue to do so until you run out of funds. - Collect
With the collect option, you can set the multiplier at which the game will automatically cash out your winnings. The bad thing about this option is that you can only auto-collect at pre-set multipliers, excluding low and high payouts.
Like before, you can set different automated betting settings on each betting interface, meaning you can autoplay and collect your winnings on some interfaces while playing in manual mode on others. Sweet!
‘All In’ Mode
Unless you’re auto-playing on all five paper lanterns, there’s no way you can manually place and cash out five bets at once.
