What are Provably Fair Crash Games?
Provably fair crash games are based on a provably fair algorithm. This algorithm assures the players of game results that the casino cannot tamper with.
If you’re confused about an algorithm, we suggest you read our guide on crash gambling algorithms, which will teach you about different types of crash gambling algorithms and why provably fair algorithms are the best option.
The majority of provably fair crash games operate like this:
- The casino whips up a unique server seed.
When you join a provably fair crash game, the casino generates an exclusive “Active server seed” for each round of the game. This server seed, whipped up by the casino, is then taken through a complex cryptographic hashing function (usually SHA256), ensuring it is as unique as a snowflake and as secure as a vault for each game round. - You get to cook up your personalized seed (ideally).
Just like the casino’s seed, you get to bake your unique “Active client seed”. This could be anything you like – maybe even your dog’s name! Your special seed is then taken through the same encryption process, making sure the casino can’t peek at your actual seed value. The best games allow you to choose your own seed value, some generate them for you. - Your hash value and the casino’s hash value have a party.
To get a thrilling, unpredictable game outcome, your hash value and the casino’s hash value come together for a hashing party. This creates the final hash value, which holds the key to the game’s outcome. - Bringing it home.
Now, you might be thinking, how do I know this game is fair? How do we keep the casino from pulling a fast one? Great question. By combining both values, a randomized game result is delivered, and every player has the opportunity to check the fairness in real time.
There is no way for the casino to break these hashes and change the outcome of the game in real time. To learn why that is, we recommend you read more about cryptographic hashing functions and why they can’t be broken.
Some crash games, like Aviator by Spribe, even combine multiple players’ seed values to create a final randomized game result, making it even more secure and trustworthy.

Key features:

Roobet’s original crash game reigns as one of the people’s favorites. We certainly enjoyed playing it in our full review, but we could not get past the fact that checking the fairness isn’t exactly easy.
We managed to do it and confirmed that the game is, in fact, fair, but the fact that they don’t have a player-friendly fairness interface means Roobet’s crash game doesn’t deserve the podium.
If all that matters to you is that the game is fair and you have no intention to check each round, then Roobet’s original crash game is a sublime choice! With an amazing community and great betting automation features, we can assure you that this is a good choice.

How to Check the Fairness in a Crash Game?
There is no universal answer here as each game and game developer uses their own approach. But to make things a bit easier to understand, we’ll showcase the most common ways to check fairness in crash games.
Built-In Fairness Verification Tools
The easiest way to check the fairness of a crash game is through a game’s built-in fairness verification tool. Both of our top-rated, provably fair crash games offer this function, which is the main reason why they landed on top of this list.
We’ll use Stake casino’s amazing fairness verification tool as an example.
The easiest way to check the fairness in Stake’s crash game is to simply click on the result of a round once it’s finished (upper right corner of the game). Once you do that, a new window pops up containing all the game information you need to check the fairness of that round.
If you want instant fairness verification, all you need to do is click the “Verify Game” button that we pointed out with the arrow in the image above. If the result of the game stays the same, the game is fair.
If you don’t trust this tool, you can also use the tool provided in the fairness interface, which you can open by clicking the “Fairness” notice in the bottom right corner of the game.
In this window that opens up, you simply paste in the information you receive by clicking on the game’s result (seed and hash of the round). If the result in this window matches the result of the game, the round was fair.
If you still don’t trust this tool, you can click the “View Calculation Breakdown” button at the bottom of this interface and see exactly how the fairness was checked. You can even repeat the decryption process on your own for reassurance.
Cryptographic Hash Function Decryption Tools
Games like Spaceman by Pragmatic Play do not provide you with built-in tools for fairness verification. They do, however, provide you with all the necessary information, which you can then use to verify the fairness of the game by using any of the 3rd party SHA256 encryption/decryption tools out there.
We like using this SHA256 encryption tool, but any other will do just fine since this is nothing but a tool that executes this cryptographic function.
Since we already mentioned the Spaceman crash game, let’s use it as our example in this section.
After a round of crash ends in the Spaceman crash game, you can click on the result of that round at the bottom of the game.
Doing this will open up a new pop-up that contains the round’s result, hash value, and result value. To check the fairness of the game, you need to copy the result value of the round.
Take the result value that you just copied to the SHA256 encryption tool we mentioned before and copy it into the “input” field.
Once you paste the result value in, click the “Encrypt” button and check the result in the “Output” field. If the result matches the hash provided by the Spaceman game, the round was absolutely fair.
As you can see in the images above, our values match, so we can safely say that the game was fair. That is it!
Other Game Developer Methods
The methods we have just shown you are the most common, however, sometimes, game providers or casinos create their own systems for checking the fairness. This might include running a Java or a Python code script or something along those lines.
👉🏼 Examples of such games are Crash by Roobet and Crash by Rocketpot casino. We’re not particularly fond of such systems, but there’s nothing you can really do about it.
In any case, make sure you read the fairness documentation in the game information section of each game and educate yourself on how the game of your choice allows you to check the fairness. We also provide step-by-step guides on checking fairness in all our crash game reviews!

Final Thoughts
There you have it! If you’re looking for an extra layer of trust between you, the player, and the casino, then provably fair crash games are a match made in heaven. To be honest, we’ve come to a point where if the game isn’t provably fair, we’re rarely playing it.

Frequently Asked Questions
The team at Crash Gambler decided to name Crash by BC Originals as the best provably fair crash game. Not only does it features an easy-to-operate fairness interface, it also features an RTP of 99%, the most advanced betting automation settings and an excellent gameplay experience.
All these factors make it the best provably crash game out there.
In our opinion, no. The technology behind provably fair algorithms prevents the casinos from tampering with the results. You have to keep in mind that casinos also have no interest in rigging the games since their house edge alone brings in enough revenue to support their operations.
Casinos make a living from satisfied gamblers, so rigging the games was never in their interest begging with. Provable fairness in crash games just adds another layer of trust into that relationship.
No, provable fairness does not influence crash game profitability. You can, however, feel more confident that even if you do win or lose it was based on a randomized outcome and not because someone made you lose (or win).
