We’re writing this article after finishing our week-long hands-on review of the Spaceman crash game by Pragmatic Play. We wouldn’t normally tackle such a task on a Friday afternoon, but we’d do it for Spaceman!
Why?
Because each member of our team likes this game so much, it’s worth dedicating our time to the review right after we combine our notes and share opinions on it.

Based on the game information, it’s clear that this game cannot compete with the likes of Cash or Crash by Evolution Gaming, Crash by BC Originals, or Crash by Stake Originals. All three of those crash games boast a 99% RTP or even higher.
On the other side, despite the somewhat low maximum multiplier, we have no complaints about the maximum win amount, which at $500,000 is impressive!
Return-to-Player or RTP
There is quite a bit of confusion around the Return-to-Player or RTP of this game, the official game site promises an RTP of 95%.
However, whenever we see this game hosted in online casinos like BC.Game or Stake, the in-game help menu states that the RTP is 95,5%.
But that’s not all, we also saw discrepancies in the actual RTP in different casinos. For example, BC.Game’s below the game menu states that the RTP of this game is 97%, and the information table at Stake casino claims that the house edge of this game is 2%, meaning the RTP is 98%.
We contacted Stake’s customer support services to find out the truth. We asked them if the RTP was 95,5% or 98%. Here is their response:
We didn’t get a clear answer; however, it was clear that they weren’t aware of this issue, and we’re sure other casinos aren’t as well. This leads us to believe that the actual RTP of the Spaceman slot is 95,5%, which is still better than the 95% RTP in the Duelbits Crash game.

After our initial problems with gathering information about the RTP of the game, we were on our way to try out the game on both desktop and mobile devices. But before we do so, we want to show you where you can find all the relevant game information.

Desktop Gaming Experience
We kicked things off by playing comfortably on our large-screen desktop devices. To get a good feel for the game and how it works, we’ve tested it on multiple devices and internet connections.
We’re happy to report that the game remained smooth on all our laptops and desktop PCs. Despite the animation-heavy design, the game was no challenge for our desktop devices. However, you do need to have a solid internet connection if you wish to see the game running smoothly.
If you don’t have access to a strong wifi or mobile internet connection, we recommend you use the “Turn off animation” option by clicking on the little camera icon at the top right corner.
We don’t really count that as a con, in fact, the beautiful animations are just one of the many great things about this game, and it’s completely reasonable that a stronger internet connection is needed to keep up the great visuals.
Aside from this, we have absolutely no complaints about our desktop gaming experience with this game.

Spaceman Game On Mobile
Just like any reputable modern crash game, Spaceman by Pragmatic Play is fully optimized for mobile gameplay. To test it out, we used multiple mobile devices, ranging from old and small (iPhone 6S) to new and big (iPhone 13 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22).
The mobile version of the Spaceman game performed fantastically! Not only does it still offer a great visual experience, but we can also confirm that the gameplay on all of our devices was immaculate. There were no signs of betting delays, lag, or game crashes.

How to Play The Spaceman Crash Game
There’s one thing that Spaceman’s incredible help menu won’t teach you, and that’s how to play the game. That’s where we come in.
While it’s true that Spaceman isn’t the most complicated crash game out there, there are still some nuances that are different and that we can help explain better. Let’s get into it!
Manual Mode
If you’re new to this game, it’s a good idea to start playing in manual mode. This will ensure that you have the time to get used to the pace and the overall game dynamics.
To start playing the game in manual mode, all you need to do is select a bet amount and confirm the bet. Everything is done in the central betting interface below the cute Spaceman figure.
You can also use the “2x” button to double your bet amount immediately and the “undo” button to return to your previous bet amount. The far right button with the rotating arrow opens up the automated betting options which we’ll use later.
Once you’ve confirmed your bet, all you need to do is wait for the next round and cash out before the little Spaceman crashes and returns back to base with a few balloons.
Don’t forget!
In manual mode, you’ll need to cash out manually, which you do with the same button that you used to confirm the bet. Simple!

If you don’t want to give up on your dream of catching those juicy multipliers, you can use the 50% Auto Cashout function. With it, you can cash out 50% of your winnings at a lower multiplier while you let the other 50% ride it out. Just make sure you cash out before the multiplier ultimately crashes.
If you decide to use only these two functions, you’ll still need to place the bet manually at the beginning of each round. If you want to get rid of manual labour completely, you’re ready for the -Autoplay function!
When you click the autoplay button (seen in the image above), a menu pops up which allows you to:

- Stop the game if your balance decreases by a certain amount
- Stop the game if your balance increases by a certain amount
- Stop the game if a single win exceeds a certain amount
Keep in mind that while the autoplay function, you cannot modify the bet amount between each round, so unless you cancel or modify the autoplay mode, you’ll place equally large bets for the time being.

Provable Fairness

By clicking on the result at the bottom, a new window pops up, which contains both the result and the hash value that was used to produce that randomized result.
To verify the fairness, you can use any 3rd party SHA256 algorithm decryption tool, paste in the game result and confirm the fairness if the encrypted result matches the hash provided by the game’s interface.
We successfully verified the result of the game from the image above and confirmed that the game was fair!
We would love to see more options when it comes to the provably fair system of this game. This would include more information on the algorithm itself, an option to dictate our own seed value, and perhaps even an in-game fairness verification option.
In-game Live Support

One of our favorite features of this game is the innovative statistics chart. Not only can you see the past results of the game, but you can also choose to see the statistics of the last 50-500 rounds of Spaceman in a beautiful chart.
You can find the statistics in the same menu that opens up when you click a game result at the bottom of the game. Use the navigational arrows at the top of this pop-up menu.
As you can see in the image above, 47% of the past 500 rounds of Spaceman ended with a multiplier ranging from 1,01X – 1,99X. And only 1% of the rounds finished with a multiplier above 101X.

On the right side of the game’s interface, you can find a collapsable menu with all the bets that other players are placing, and once the game takes off, you can see how much others are winning (or losing) in real-time.
At the end of this particular round, 171 out of 269 players cashed out a total of $950.53, the other players lost it all. You can also see the multipliers at which they cashed out, their initial bets, and the win amount of each player.

Final Thoughts
Despite the cons, our team members agreed that the Spaceman crash game carries a certain “it” factor which makes it just a joy to play. We’re sure that the beautiful design has something to do with it, or perhaps it’s all the unique game features. We’ll never know.
What we do know, however, is that none of the team members found it easy to stop playing the game. And that says a lot, it’s not something that happens often.
