Crash games are pretty much identical—a rocket or a plane launches, soars up, and crashes in the end. If you haven’t cashed out, that’s on you.
SmartSoft, however, took an interesting approach. They are mixing a soccer vibe with a crash game in a weird blend.
In this review, I’ll see if the Football X experiment has worked out. Let’s go!

Gameplay Experience & Features
Every time I test a crash game, I try it firsthand, seeing how every detail works, and then adding my own observations.
My colleagues and I follow a fully unbiased game review process, so that every crash game review is 100% (or close to 100%) accurate.
Desktop Gameplay Experience
On desktop, Football X by SmartSoft Gaming is a fun twist on the crash game genre. Its football juggling concept reminds me of childhood competitions I held with my football mates.
It gives a fresh, sporty vibe with five player options, though the gameplay feels more or less the same regardless of which player you choose.
The football chants and characters greeting me in different languages—English, Spanish, Japanese—add a nice touch.
There is a single betting interface, so it kind of limits my advanced strategies, like Anti-Martingale, which I like to apply every now and then.
You can also check in real-time how many players are in the game, which I find cool. However, you can’t see real-time wins, which would be even better.
The gameplay interface has two sections: my bets and top wins, which make the leaderboard aspect engaging. Well, not as much as Aviator by Spribe, which allows you to check who is winning in real time.
While I find it visually more fun than many other crash games my team and I reviewed, it’s definitely less rewarding in terms of payouts—96% is definitely not enough these days.
The lack of custom bet increments is also something that is worth mentioning. Here are the main options in Football X Crash:

What if I want to bet $0.20? Or $1.50? That alone is a big enough reason to pick Crash by Stake in a heartbeat. No minimum bet and no ceiling on the max win (compared to $10,000 in Football X).
That being said, I still liked the concept. It’s fresh and has a unique vibe. It’s, in fact, so good that another game I’ve reviewed—PumpedX—has similar gameplay mechanics, betting options, and overall interface.
Mobile Gameplay Experience
On mobile, Football X feels more intuitive than on desktop. It’s much easier to press the game button with my thumb rather than holding the left-click button on my mouse in Manual Mode.
It adds a sense of control that’s hard to match. Props to SmartSoft for that.
The Autoplay feature, however, is where the game shines on mobile.
Does it perform well? Yes! Can it dethrone our current favorite Crash by BC.Game? Absolutely not. But if you’re willing to sacrifice the round-by-round bet adjustments, it does respectably well.
If you’re more into casual gameplay with smoother controls, Football X on mobile is a solid pick.
I managed to squeeze 20-25 rounds within a few minutes. That’d be impossible in games where you must wait for at least 5 seconds between rounds.
However, I do have to say that the effects might drain a bit more data on 5G devices, and game lags with design-heavy games can also be expected.
Top Wins Feature
The Top Wins section in Football X provides a leaderboard of players and their wins for the day, week, or month.
It’s clear that larger bets don’t always lead to the biggest multipliers—smaller bets like €0.50, which achieved a 42.29x multiplier, stand out.
Side indicator
The side indicator in Football X shows the real-time progress of your bet, with a clearly marked maximum multiplier of 100x at the top.
Displaying the max win is practical for quick decision-making, but the cap at 100x may be limiting for players looking for higher-risk, higher-reward opportunities.
It’s useful but doesn’t offer the same adrenaline-pumping potential as other crash games with higher multipliers.
Gameplay Options
Football X revolves around timing and quick decisions. You place your bet, watch your chosen player juggle the ball, and decide when to cash out before the ball drops.
It’s simple, but the real excitement lies in pushing your luck and trying to hold on for the biggest possible multiplier.
Manual Mode
Manual mode in Football X is simple. You pick a player, choose your bet (the default is $0.50), and hold for as long as the player juggles the ball.
However, if you end up like Ousmane Dembélé during his Barcelona unveiling (where he struggled to juggle), you’ll lose your bets quickly.
On a desktop, holding down the left mouse button for this mode is awkward and doesn’t feel natural at all.
On mobile, it’s a smoother experience but still not as polished as Crash by Betfury, which has a much more refined manual control system.
Given the choice, I’d stick with Betfury for its better user experience.
Autoplay Mode
The Autoplay Mode in Football X is certainly going the extra mile. It gives you the ability to set up to 500 autoplay spins, as well as features like Auto Collect (setting a multiplier for auto cashout) and multiple Stop Autoplay triggers.
Auto Triggers work well
The auto triggers can stop the autoplay session if a single win exceeds a certain amount or if the balance increases or decreases by a set amount.
However, compared to Stake Originals Crash, Football X’s autoplay lacks the more advanced options such as adjusting bets based on win/loss streaks and precise profit/loss stop points.
While Football X provides decent control for casual players, it doesn’t match Stake’s sophisticated system, which lets me execute more complex strategies like Martingale.
Pros and Cons
Before reaching a verdict, I always go over the pros and cons of each crash game one last time, and Football X is no different.
That is why I’ve made a list of all good things I’ve come across when testing SmartSoft’s game:

However, Football X is too far from perfect:

Final Thoughts
Football X brings soccer into the world of crash games, and I’ll always be thankful to SmartSoft for that. I’ve had plenty of fun betting in Auto Mode and reminiscing about the good old days.
However, when I think of crash games, I enjoy applying various strategies, competing with others in real time, and keeping track of my progress. Most importantly, I love high multipliers, and the 100x maximum multiplier didn’t get my heart racing even once.
With that in mind, I’ll happily juggle for a bit, but after that, I’ll return to my favorite runways.
