To be a crypto casino without an original crash game in this day and age is like going to Mcdonald’s and taking no fries with your burger. It’s absolute madness.
💡 We’re happy to see Thunderpick realize this and release their own Thunder Crash game!
Today, we’re finally ready to report on our week-long exploration and numerous hours of gameplay in Thunderpick casino’s original crash game.
Gameplay Experience
One of the key things we evaluate in each crash game review we do is the gameplay experience. We examine how the game behaves on both desktop and mobile devices, and we try and provide an unbiased opinion on what the game feels like.
To make sure we’re as unbiased as possible, we’ve constructed a process that allows us to do that. You can read more about that on Crash Gambler’s Review Processes page!
Desktop Gameplay Experience
Since we’re not Gen Zers, we still like to do the majority of our gambling on our laptops and desktop PCs. We know, weird, right?
Right off the bat, our team members loved the game animations in Thunder Crash. The animations feature all sorts of flying objects, from satellites, chickens, rocks, mushrooms, trolls, and even memes!
You can see in the image below that the animations also look incredibly good!
You really see it all when you’re zooming through space in your little space shuttle. However, if you’re on a poor internet connection or a device that does not do well with complex animations, there’s also a light game mode.
But wait, that’s not all! Sorry to sound like a cheap infomercial, but it really isn’t. Thunderpick also offers a classic game mode switch that allows you to play the game in its original form before the new meme’d-up redesign.
The entire Crash Gambler team agreed that in terms of actual gameplay experience, there’s really nothing to complain about here. Thunderpick’s original crash game is, without a doubt, a well-developed crash game that isn’t plagued by any bugs, betting delays, game crashes, or anything of that nature.
We recommend you play this game on a good internet connection! Thunder Crash offers an amazing error-free gaming experience.
Mobile Gameplay Experience
All the game modes, functions, and incredibly designed animations are well translated from the Thunder Crash desktop version to the mobile adaptation of the game.
We also love the fact that all the buttons and fields in the mobile version of the game remain big enough to prevent misclicks. Thunderpick clearly dedicated enough time to the mobile version of this game to bring it to a level where we really have no complaints.
If we had to “complain” about one thing, it’s the fact that during our testing phase, we did observe that our trusty iPhone 6S had a bit of a tougher time running the game smoothly compared to our newer smartphones.
All in all, if you’re aiming to play this game on mobile, we cannot recommend it enough!
How To Play Thunder Crash by Thunderpick
We know what you’re thinking, get to the game already. Here we are! We’re going to show you both how to play the game in manual and autoplay mode. We’ll also cover which strategies you can automate based on the betting automation setting in this game.
Manual Mode
Playing Thunder Crash in manual mode is really simple. Entering a round of crash in Thunder Crash’s manual betting mode is exactly the same as in BC.Game’s original crash game.
Here is how you play Thunder Crash by Thunderpick in manual mode:
- Choose your bet amount.
We recommend you never place a bet that is higher than 5-10% of your entire bankroll. - Choose the auto-cashout multiplier.
We know this is the manual betting mode, so what are the auto-cashout settings doing here? Think of it as a safety trigger. You can still cash out manually at any given moment of the game, but you can also lay back and let the game cash out automatically whenever you want. - Click the “Place bet” button!
You’re in! Strap up! - Cash out manually or wait for the game to cash out automatically.
In order to win, you’ll need to either press the “Cash out” button (formerly the “Place bet” button) or cross your fingers and hope that the game crashes after your pre-set auto cashout multiplier.
That is it! If you’re new to crash gambling, we really recommend you kick things off in manual mode. This will allow you to get used to the pace of the game, and it will give you full control over the game.
💡 Once you feel like you’re ready, make the switch to the autoplay mode and elevate your game to the next level.
Before you do that, we recommend you play along with us! Just reading our reviews is not nearly as fun as actually playing along with us. Head to Thunderpick and create an account in less than a minute!
Autoplay Mode
First things first, in order to engage the autoplay setting in Thunderpicks’s crash game, you need to click on the little “Autobet” button right below the “Place bet” button. This opens up a drop-down menu filled with automated betting features.
Once you open up the auto bet menu, a whole new set of options pops up, and they allow you to:
- Set a base bet amount
- Set the auto-cashout multiplier
- Stop the auto-betting process if your bet amount surpasses a certain limit
- Multiply your bet amount on a win or reset it back to the base amount you chose at the beginning
- Multiply your bet amount on a loss or reset it back to the base amount you chose at the beginning
These settings allow you to automate numerous crash betting strategies, including the Martingale strategy, the Anti-Martingale strategy, and many others. Make sure you check our full guide to crash gambling strategies to learn more!
To start playing with your desired auto-betting settings, simply click the “Start auto bet” button and watch the game do its magic!
The only thing we’re missing from these settings is the fact that you can’t automate the betting process for a desired amount of rounds. You can do so in games like Crash by Stake Originals, where you can simply automate the betting process for the next 10 rounds or whatever amount you’d like.
To stop the auto-betting process in the Thunder Crash game, you’ll need to click on the “Stop auto bet” button.
Other Game Features
We’ve had games where there’s just a seemingly never-ending supply of game features, Cash or Crash by Evolution Gaming is one of them, for instance. In this case, we really don’t have much to cover, the only additional features that we haven’t mentioned yet are provable fairness and live bets.
Let’s start off with provable fairness.
Provable Fairness
Since this is an original crash game, provable fairness is a must. And despite not featuring an in-game fairness verification system like BC.Game’ or Stake’s original crash game, Thunderpick, makes it a lot easier to check the fairness than Roobet casino, for instance.
In order to check the fairness in Thunder Crash, you’ll first need to acquire the salt, hash, and the result of the game you want to check.
To get that data, simply hover your mouse pointed above the result of the round you want to check in the result strip above the game animation window.
Now that you have the data on hand, simply copy the “Salt” value and paste it into this SHA256 encryption tool. Once you paste the salt value in the input field, simply add in the final game result as well.
As you can see in the image above, we pasted in our salt value and added 6.20 at the end. Once we did that, we clicked the “Encrypt” button and got our output value.
💡 If the output value from the SHA256 encryption tool matches the “Hash” value of the round you are checking, the game is 100% fair!
If you’re a bit confused about what’s going on here, we recommend you read our guide to crash gambling algorithms and our list of the best provably fair crash games!
That is how you check the fairness of Thunderpick’s crash game!
Live Bets
Wondering how many people are in a particular round of Thunder Crash? Wondering then they cashed out or how many of your fellow crash gamblers are still in the game?
Well, wonder no more, on the left side of Thunder Crash, there’s a handy live bets section that clearly displays how many players are in the game and how many cashed out at which point.
In the image above, you can see that in our case, 7 players with a total bet amount of $30.08 were still in the game while 6 other players had already cashed out a total of $94.51.
This is a neat little feature we like seeing in every crash game. Good job, Thunderpick!
Thunder Crash by Thunderpick vs. Thundercrash by Bovada
We’ve mentioned before that there are actually two crash games out there called “Thunder Crash”. We’re reviewing Thunderpick casino’s original crash game; however, plenty of other crash gambling news outlets also talk about and cover Bovada’s Thundercrash game.
Both of these crash games feature thrilling crash gameplay, but they’re entirely different in terms of design and functions. Here is a little comparison table of both games.
Game Name and Provider | Thunder Crash by Thunderpick | Thundercrash by Bovada |
---|---|---|
Return-to-Player (RTP) | 96% | 96% |
House Edge | 4% | 4% |
Algorithm | Provably fair RNG | Provably fair RNG |
Mobile Support | Yes | Yes |
Maximum Win | $335,496 | $100,000 |
Maximum Bet Amount | No limit as long as it does not surpass the max. win limit | No limit as long as it does not surpass the max. win limit |
Minimum Bet Amount | $0.11 | $0.50 |
Maximum Payout Multiplier | No limit | No limit |
As you can see, even on “paper”, the games are very similar. They both feature a 96% RTP and a provably fair algorithm. However, Thunder Crash by Thunderpick does offer a much, much higher maximum win and a lower minimum bet limit which makes it much better for novice crash gamblers.
If it was up to us, we’d pick Thunderpick’s original crash game every day of the week for the lower minimum bet limit alone.
Pros & Cons
For those of you that read our review carefully, this list doesn’t make much sense, you already know what we like and don’t like about this game! But in any case, it’s good to get things summed up in a neat pros and cons list.
Without further ado, here’s everything we love about Thunderpicks’s original crash game and some things that could be improved.
We love the fact that…
✅ There’s a light game mode available if your internet connection can’t keep up.
✅ There’s a classic game mode for those of you that want retro crash animations.
✅ The live bets section is fast and responsive.
✅ Checking the fairness of the game is simple.
✅ The game animations are fun and really well-designed.
✅ The gameplay is fast and engaging.
✅ Playing the game on mobile is a real treat.
✅ There are no bugs, betting delays, or other gameplay issues.
✅ The multipliers are amazing!
But there’s always space for improvement.
❌ The RTP of 96% could be higher, considering it’s an original crash game.
❌ We’re missing some more additional game features, like player’s chat, for instance.
❌ We’d like to see more betting history available
❌ Game information is nowhere to be found do better, Thunderpick!
Final Thoughts
Thunder Crash is one of those original crash games that is flying below the radar. We’ve said the same for Bitsler’s original crash game, and we can’t understand why these games don’t have a bigger player base.
Flying below the radar!
Thunder Crash is a really under-appreciated crash game. We loved it!
If Thunderpick somehow managed to raise the RTP from 96% to at least 98% or more, we would seriously consider naming this game as one of our favorites.
We suggest you head straight to Thunderpick and try it out now!
Thank you for staying with us till the very end, remember to gamble responsibly, and we’ll see you in the casino!
